• 100% unmercerized cotton

• sett: 10-12 epi for rag rugs, 36 epi for rep weave, 15 epi for balanced plain weave
• 4-ply with a tight twist

8/4 Carpet Warp is the hands-down favorite for warp in rag rugs, and a very popular choice for rep rugs and placemats. Because of the tight twist and low elasticity, it is a great choice for warp for rug and tapestry weaving, or for making your own string heddles. Note that the natural is less expensive than the bleached or dyed colors, so for a weft-faced project where the warp will not be seen, you can save a little money by using natural. The 100% cotton version and poly/cotton version of this yarn have different shrinkage rates, so if you don't want to risk puckering in the fabric, don't mix them.
